What we believe:
About Jesus:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, whom God sent to earth to live a perfect life and die on the cross for our sins. We believe that Jesus is literally God in flesh and an equal part of the Trinity. We believe that He rose from the dead three days later and in so doing defeated death and made a way for every human being to have salvation. He offers us His perfect life in exchange for our sin. (John 3:16, 1 John 4:9, 1 Timothy 2:6)
About God:
We believe that there is one true God who created all that is, including us. We believe that He loves us deeply and desires for us to have a relationship with Him. (Genesis 1-3, 1 John 4:8)
About the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is an equal part of the Trinity - God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Every Christian upon salvation is given the Holy Spirit, who helps us follow God closer here on earth. (John 16:7, Romans 8:11)
About the Bible:
We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God given to us to teach us truth about God, the world, and ourselves. It is the primary way the Holy Spirit teaches us today and provides us with a complete truth of salvation and God’s redemptive plan for mankind. God’s word is the only authority in our lives. (2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12, Isaiah 40:8)
About Christians:
Once we have received the free gift of salvation, it is every Christians task to strive to be like Christ as best as he/she can. We work to become more like Him every day (Philippians 2:12) and work to share the good news of the Gospel with as many as we can (Matthew 28:19-20). We serve as a part of His church and commit to helping each other in these efforts (Romans 12:4-5, Hebrews 10:25) until we can all join together in Heaven one day!
About Sin:
We believe that every human being has the problem of sin. This problem has separated us from God. Every human being’s greatest need and, deep down, greatest desire is to be in relationship with God. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23)
About Salvation:
One cannot earn salvation by being a good person or by their good deeds. It is a gift from God for us to simply accept. (Ephesians 2:8) We believe that the gift of salvation Christ offers us can be accepted by following the Bible’s guidance to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, who died for our sins and rose again (John 3:16, Acts 16:31); repenting of your sins and commit to following Jesus for the rest of your life (Acts 2:38, Luke 13:3); confess your faith in Jesus (Matthew 10:32-33; Romans 10:9); and being baptized into Christ (Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; 1 Peter 3:21)
